PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a method for detecting a form rolling load capable of contributing to make the life of stress sensor longer and further capable of actually detecting a stress load acting on a working tooth part in the terminating period of pressing by a form rolling die when the form rolling load reaches the maximum peak value. SOLUTION: A form rolling die 1 which has in the outer peripheral part a projection shaped working tooth part having a pair of form rolling forming surfaces 21, 22 turning the back to each other is used, stress sensors 3 (31, 32) are provided to at least one side of shaft end surface 10 of the form rolling die 1, the form rolling die 1 is pushed into a work, the work is form rolled by the working tooth part 2 of the form rolling die 1 and also the stress load acting on the working tooth part 2 of the form rolling die 1 in the form rolling is detected on the basis of signals from the stress sensors 3 (31, 32).
