PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control an amount of an ink with good uniformly close contact properties of rolls by forming a doctor blade of a carbon fiber-reinforced resin using substantially long carbon fibers, and setting a flexual modulus to a specific value or above. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the doctor blade has, in the case of using as a resin a thermosetting resin, the steps of previously impregnating pulled and aligned carbon fibers with uncured thermosetting resin or, in the case of using as the resin a thermosetting resin, impregnating the pulled and aligned carbon fibers with a resin of a molten state to form a prepreg, laminating it so that a plurality of the prepregs are laminated so that the fibers become a predetermined orientation, then heating to cure it or thermoforming it to obtain a cured material. Since the thus obtained blade has a flexual modulus of 150 Gpa or above, preferably 200 to 400 Gpa, its deflection is 0.5 mm or below per 1 m of a very small state in a cantilever state, and hence an interval between the blade and the roller can be maintained constant. Accordingly, the both can be preferably brought into close contact with one another.
