PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color image excellent in single color development and in light resistance in a mixed part with an ink of another color by employing dark and light inks comprising a dark ink containing a magenta dye having a specific structure and a light ink containing another magenta dye having another specific structure. SOLUTION: A deep magenta ink contains 1-5 wt.% of a magenta dye represented by formula I and a light magenta ink contains 0.5-4 wt.% of a magenta dye represented by formula II. Further, it contains 3-40 wt.% of a low volatile solvent such as ethylene glycol or the like, 2-20 wt.% of a wetting agent such as trimethylolethane or the like, 2-10 wt.% of a lower alcohol such as 1-propanol or the like, 0.01-2 wt.% of an anionic or nonionic surfactant, and, if necessary, a water-soluble resin, an anti-foaming agent, a pH adjusting agent and the like. In the formulae, A and A' are each H or a group represented by formula III; R1 is a 1-4C alkyl, OH or the like; R2 is OH, NHR5 or the like; R3 is H, OH or the like; R4 is OH, OCH3 or the like; R5 is SO3M or the like; M is Li, K or the like; X is anilino; and Y is OH, Cl or the like. |
