PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an adsorbent for a high temperature acidic exhaust gas and a method for removing a high temperature acidic gas. SOLUTION: In the absorbent for exhaust gas, a mixture of amorphous calcium silicate hydrate and sodium aluminate is subjected to hydrothermal treatment. In the method for removing exhaust gas, a high temperature acidic exhaust gas discharged from an incinerator and others is absorbed/fixed by the absorbent. In this way, the adsorbent for an acidic exhaust gas can be produced efficiently by a simple process. The adsorbent is useful as a fixing agent for fixing/absorbing a high temperature acidic exhaust gas discharged from the incinerator and others.
