PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition for a lens production process, exhibiting excellent cleanability of any of asphalt pitch, wax pitch, protective film used in an optical lens production process, having slight influence on the human body and the environment. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (a) 20-60 wt.% of a dialkyl carbonate of the formula (R1 and R2 are the same or different 4-8C alkyl groups), (b) 10-50 wt.% of one or more aprotic polar solvents selected from the group consisting ofγ-butyrolactone, butyrolactam, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone,ε- caprolactam, pipecoline and picoline and (c) 5-70 wt.% of a paraffin-based and/or a naphthene-based hydrocarbon solvent.
