PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a molded article, making it possible to apply a secondary processing treatment to the molded article, while maintaining the state of the molding treatment, and to provide a machine for molding the molded article. SOLUTION: This method for producing a molded article comprises placing a mold 2 at a first position P1 in a mold-closed state, feeding a raw material for the molded article into the cavity of the mold 2 at the first position P1 to form the molded article 8 on the inner surface of the cavity by a prescribed means, transferring the mold 2 to a second position P2 in a state which maintains the closed state of the mold 2 and holds the molded article in the cavity, and then subjecting the molded article 8 to a prescribed second processing treatment at the second position P2. The mold 2 comprises a pair of dividable split molds 21, 22 and can form the cavity having a prescribed shape by closing the split molds 21, 22.
