PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly measure the level of a liquid in a plating bath by a eddy level meter without any influences of the dross covering the surface of the liquid. SOLUTION: The outside of a sensor coil 2 arranged opposite to the surface of the plating liquid 1 inside a plating bath is surrounded by a cylindrical nozzle case 3, the pressurized air (gas) fed into an annular air passage 30 installed in the nozzle case 3 is fed into the nozzle case 3 through a plurality of communication holes 31 in the circumferential direction, and ejected from the lower annular opening under the nozzle case 3, and blown against the surface of the plating liquid 1 opposite to the sensor coil 2. A wave spreading therearound is generated from this blowing position, the dross 11 covering the surface of the liquid is removed, and the level of the surface of the liquid is measured in this condition.
