PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition capable of providing a high detergency even if the washing is carried out with a low mechanical force, hardly giving bad effect to a car body-constituting material such as an aluminum alloy, and hardly causing stain by the detergent on a coated surface by making the composition include a long chain N-acylamino acid or the like, and another nonionic surfactant in a specific proportion. SOLUTION: This detergent composition is obtained by including (A) a long chain N-acylamino acid or a salt thereof, preferably an acylsarcosinic acid or a salt thereof (e.g. triethanolammonium lauroylsarcosinate), and (B) another nonionic surfactant, preferably a linear alkylbenzenesulfonic acid or a salt thereof, and/or an alcohol ethoxy sulfate or a salt thereof (e.g. a sodium linear dodecylbenzenesulfonate) in the ratio of the components A/B regulated so as to be (1/1)-(1/50). The content of the component A is 0.5-10 wt.% and the content of the component B is 2-35 wt.% based on the amount of the composition.
