PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a protrusion and recess portion on an outer periphery of a base by forming many grooves each having a sectional wedge shape on an inner periphery of a gypsum mold for forming an outer periphery of a body of a tableware pottery substantially in a circumferential direction, charging a milled soil-like body in the mold, and molding the base by pressing it by a spatula while rotating the mold. SOLUTION: A cutting tool 1 having a sharp tip and a handle is pressed to an inner periphery 2 of a gypsum mold 1 to form many grooves 3 each having a wedge-shaped section substantially in a circumferential direction. A milled soil-like body is pressed to the periphery 2 by a lever. Then, a plastic body (a') having a wide protruding strips (b) formed in a circumferential direction can be formed on the outer periphery. After the body (a') is formed, the body (a') is taken out from the mold 1 by a contraction due to dehydration of the body (a'). According to the constitution, a pottery tableware having fine protruding strips (b) can be obtained.
