PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical denitration catalyst of high durability and to make nitrogen oxide efficiently harmless. SOLUTION: Gamma-Alumina is added to a zirconium salt solution, then ammonia is added to deposit zirconium oxide on the surface of γ-alumina, or ammonia is added to a solution containing aluminum nitrate and a zirconium salt to coprecipitate zirconium oxide and γ-alumina to obtain a denitration catalyst in which zirconium oxide is supported on γ-alumina. The catalyst and ammonia as a reducing are used, methane is used as a reducing agent, the temperature of the catalyst is set up at 50-650 deg.C, and a gas containing nitrogen oxide is cleaned. |
