PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain monolithic refractories which can be cast in a short time and are easily applied like castable refractories while suppressing the lowering of heat resistance peculiar to plastic refractories and wastage such as cracking and exfoliation due to hot spalling as compared with castable refractories. SOLUTION: The monolithic refractories comprise O.001-0.5 wt.%, in total, of one or more selected from carbonates and condensed phosphates, 0.5-10 wt.%, in total, of one or more clay materials based on one selected from kaolinite, halloysite and montmorillonite, 1-10 wt.% hydraulic alumina and the balance one or more of various refractory materials such as alumina, alumina-silica, silica, zircon and silicon carbide. |
