SMALL CIRCUIT BREAKER HAVING LARGE CONTACT SEPARATION

A compact molded case circuit breaker is provided with a spring-powered overcenter toggle-type contact operating mechanism so constructed that initial closing movement of the movable contact is a result of a force transmitted directly from the manual operating handle. The contact operating mechanism also provides a movable stop that permits an exceptionally large contact separation during automatic tripping, and during normal manual opening there is a much smaller contact separation.
