PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulating structure for a side-ditch constructible at a relatively low cost and in the hardly protruded state of a cover plate. SOLUTION: In sound insulating structure 10 for a side-ditch having a side- ditch body 11 of U-shaped cross section having side walls 17, 18 on both sides, and a cover plate 14 for covering the side-ditch body 11, upward open recessed parts 20 are formed at cover placing parts 12, 13 provided at the upper parts of the side walls 17, 18, and cushioning material 15 with the fit-in parts shaped to correspond to the upward open recessed part 20 is mounted in each upward open recessed part 20 and protruded from the upward open recessed part 20.
