PURPOSE: An Internet phone gateway system is provided to mix a PSTN connection in analog and in digital so as to easily convert a desired network connection protocol. CONSTITUTION: A network connector(31) interfacing an analog switching network and a digital switching network converts an analog voice signal into PCM voice data, and converts PCM voice data into an analog voice signal. And the network connector(31) transceives PCM voice data, and receives signals for call connection from the analog and digital switching networks. A memory(37) compresses/stores an announcement for dialing a telephone number of an Internet phone user. A voice CODEC(34) codes the signals from the protocol processor(32) for compression. And the voice CODEC(34) decodes compressed voice data through the Internet, to restore the decoded data to PCM voice data, and decodes the announcement from the memory(37) for conversion into PCM voice data. A switching unit(33) switches the connection between the network connector(31) and the protocol processor(32), between the protocol processor(32) and the voice CODEC(34), and between the voice CODEC(34) and the network connector(31). An Internet connector(35) converts the data compressed from the voice CODEC(34) into a packet, and converts a packet into the original compression data. A main controller(36) decides whether protocol processing is necessary for a call received to the network connector(31).
