PURPOSE: A device for recording mutually different two programs of digital broadcasting is provided to enable one program to be viewed and another program to be recorded, in multiplexed programs of one channel, if an SD(Standard Definition) digital broadcasting signal is received. CONSTITUTION: An SD(Standard Definition) detector(11) detects whether inputted digital broadcasting signals are for an SD-grade or an HD(High Definition)-grade. A selector(13) and a controller(12) select programs for viewing and recording in multiplexed programs of one channel, to output a control signal indicating a selected two-program mode and selected programs. A transport demultiplexer(14) receives the control signal from the selector(13)/controller(12), and demultiplexes selected programs from the digital broadcasting signals received through one channel, to output at least one recording program and one viewing program. A DVCR(Digital-Video Cassette Recorder)(15) receives the recording program from the transport demultiplexer(14), for recording in digital. And a decoding unit(16) receives the viewing program from the transport demultiplexer(14), for decoding and outputting.
