PURPOSE: An apparatus for aligning a rotation shaft used when mounting a coupling and a using method thereof are provided to simplify the aligning of the rotation shaft when using the coupling for power transmission, maintain an initial load value applied to surfaces coupled with the coupling by using a surface pressure measuring sensors in case of repair, and maintain the load uniformly. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for aligning a rotation shaft used when mounting a coupling includes a convex mounting part(12) to be assembled to an axial center of a rotation machine in the center of a plate type main body(11), a plurality of surface pressure measuring sensors(13) radially provided around the mounting part, a path(14) connected from the surface pressure measuring sensors to an end of the main body, positioned with a lead line from the surface pressure measuring sensors and inserted with a balancing element(16), and a plurality of coupling holes(15) formed predetermined positions of the main body.
