PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing links between a base station controller and a base transceiver station is provided to exactly decide states of the links, by dividing sections of a link to diagnose the link states in a code division multiple access(CDMA) mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: A base station controller(BSC) and a call control processor(CCP) check states of links when a link diagnosing command is received in a state of permitting link diagnoses, to examine numbers of available links. If one number of a link is available, a ping-pong test is performed, and if two numbers of links are available, calls using the two links are examined. If the calls do not exist, the CCP and a base transceiver station(BTS) control processor(BCP) block link processes. Link diagnoses are requested to a local code division multiple access(CDMA) interconnection network(LCIN) high-capacity integrated peripheral controller(IPC) control board assembly(HICA) and a BTS interconnection network(BIN) HICA. The LCIN HICA and the BIN HICA perform from a first test to a fourth test to unblock the link processes. The BSC and the CCP transmit tested results to a base station manager(BSM) to display the results to an operator.
