CLAMPING APPARATUS OF AN OPTICAL DISK

PURPOSE: A clamping device for an optical disk is provided to prevent interference of a clamping unit to a cartridge in withdrawing the cartridge from a tray, and to minimize height of an optical disk recording player. CONSTITUTION: A spindle motor is fixed on a deck base(16) while combining a PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(30) to an external circumference of the spindle motor for applying external current into the spindle motor. A turntable(32) having a magnetic property is inserted to a rotating shaft of the spindle motor. A cover plate(20) is located on an upper portion of the turntable having a clamp lever(22) with a bent unit(22a) on an upper surface of the cover plate. A clamping unit is installed in the bent unit for clamping or releasing an optical disk in a cartridge(10) on the turntable. The clamping unit is formed by a clamper holder(50) and a clamper(52) having a hook(52a). A horizontal maintaining unit is formed on the clamper for locating the clamper on an identified line with the cover plate.
