PURPOSE: A probiotic supplement additive is provided to achieve more effective control on harmful bacteria in the intestines of a human, without destroying any useful intestinal bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The probiotic supplement additive is comprised of tannins methyl gallate (MG) of formula I, which is extracted from Galla Rhois, and gallic acid (GA) of formula II. The probiotic supplement additive affects only harmful bacteria in the intestines of a human, including Cl. perfringens, Cl. paraputrificum, Eu. limosum, Bact. fragilis, Straph. aureus, E.coil. Meanwhile, the probiotic supplement additive does not harm useful bacteria for the intestines of a human, such as, Bifidobacterium adolescentis or lactobacillus acidophilus.
