PURPOSE: An opening device for a shutter of a cartridge for recording and reproducing an optical disk is provided to prevent a wrong operation of an optical pickup through precisely radiating a semiconductor laser beam to a recording surface of the optical disk by completely opening the shutter. CONSTITUTION: An opening hole(50a) exposes a non-magnetic area and a magnetic area of an optical disk. A tray(50) includes a guide rail on an inner surface of the opening hole. A shutter opening unit reciprocates the guide rail of the tray by a driving unit in a case(18). Thus, the opening unit opens the shutter of a cartridge. A tray transfer unit is interlocked with the shutter opening unit for transferring the tray. Herein, the shutter opening unit includes a bracket(60) hung on a hanging sill of the shutter, a worm shaft(62) engaged with the bracket, and the first bevel gear(64) inserted to one end of the worm shaft.
