INTEGRATED DATABASE SYSTEM IN CALS AND ITS MAINTENANCE METHOD

PURPOSE: An integrated database system in CALS(Commerce At Light Speed) and its maintenance method is provided to exchange or share information among companies by constructing the integrated database on the information generated from a business activity according to a company standard. CONSTITUTION: An integrated database system in CALS comprises a session manager(201), a global repository manager(203), an IDB agent(202), a global data agent(205), and a local database agent(204). The session manager(201) sets and manages systematically a session on multiple users, and the global repository manager(203) manages a service information on heterogeneous data source. The IDB agent(202) generates a global query corresponding to an interface description between the global repository manager(203) and the user, and the user demands information. The global data agent(205) divides the global query into sub global queries, and integrates results from local data sources. The local database agent(204) translates the sub global queries corresponding to the local system.
