PURPOSE: A loading and feeding apparatus for a disk player using a single motor and a method of the same are provided for decreasing the number of parts needed for loading a disk and feeding an optical pick-up apparatus for thereby enhancing a productivity. CONSTITUTION: There are provided a driving motor(140), a feeding unit connected with the driving motor for feeding the optical pick-up apparatus(132), a driving force switching unit connecting the feeding unit to the driving motor(140), a locking unit for loading and unlocking the drive unit(130) to the bottom surface chassis, a disk transferring unit moved up and down by the locking unit and connected with the driving force switching unit for loading and unloading the disk(120), a moving unit connected with the driving force switching unit for driving the locking unit, and a loading start unit driven by the insertion operation of the disk(120) and inter-worked by the driving force switching unit.
