PURPOSE: A method for informing a position of a mobile terminal is provided for automatically outputting region information of a corresponding position in accordance with a movement of a mobile terminal user. CONSTITUTION: When a user with a mobile terminal is moved to a certain destination, information corresponding to the destination is registered. A user selects a position confirmation function using a menu key of a key pad(S200). A certain menu is displayed on a LCD unit of the mobile terminal based on a position confirmation function(S201). The user selects a position confirmation code input among the menu and registers a local information of the destination(S202). The local information of the destination registered by the user is stored in a storing medium(S203). The storing medium selectively uses a hard disk, RAM, ROM, etc. registered by the user. The mobile terminal receives local information of the current position from a corresponding base station.
