PURPOSE: A local digital subscriber device is provided to be capable of using a conventional communication program without a separate control program or a device driver. CONSTITUTION: A local digital subscriber device comprises a terminal(1), a terminal server(4), a first and a second communication part(10,20), and a two-line communication line(11). The terminal(1) and the terminal server(4) are spaced apart from each other for a data communication. The first and second communication parts(10,20) are connected by the two-line communication line(11) between the terminal(10) and the terminal server(4). The first communication part(10) packs the constant amount of data from a serial port of the terminal(10) with a control signal, and converts a speed of the packed result into an RS-485 signal which has three-times as fast speed as that of the serial port. The first communication part(10) sends the converted data to the second communication part(20). The second communication part(20) sends data from the terminal server(4) to the first communication part(10) in the same manner as the first communication part(10).
