PURPOSE: An operator interface apparatus in a switch a top level processor board and an interface module are integrated and a control method thereof are provided to decrease the installation cost without using an additional VME bus and enhancing a data transmission speed. CONSTITUTION: A top level processor board(100) receives a plurality of alarm signals and state information when an alarm signal and state information occur when there is an error in a plurality of systems mounted in a switch, and transmits the signal and information to an interface module(200) together with an interrupt signal and address signal. The interface module(200) is integrally installed in the top level processor board(100).
