PURPOSE: Provided are a decolourant for clothing which is excellent in decoloring all kinds of clothes and a decoloring method for clothing which is capable of partially or selectively decoloring hue of the clothes by spraying the decolourant for the clothing. Therefore, the decoloring method has the advantage of having excellent decoloring effect and being used for decoloring clothing dyed with other direct reactive dyes except indigo dyes. CONSTITUTION: This decoloring method for clothing comprises the steps of: the first step wherein the clothing is dyed with a vinyl sulfone-based reactive dye; the second step wherein the dyed clothing is treated to have water-repellency with a silicone-based water repellent; the third step wherein a decolorant having a composition containing 24 to 32% by weight of amide formaldehyde sulfoxylic acid salt, 65 to 75% by weight of water, 0.4 to 1% by weight of a pigment unbleached by the above decolourant, 0.2 to 0.5% by weight of glycerol and, if necessary, 0.4 to 1% by weight of potassium hydrogen carbonate is sprayed; the fourth step wherein the clothing sprayed with the decolourant for clothing is treated with steam; and the fifth step wherein remaining reductant and the pigment for identifying are removed from the steam-treated clothing by water washing and dehydration, followed by the drying of the clothing.
