PURPOSE: A polyacrylonitrile based activated carbon fiber is provided to adsorb SO2 continuously. CONSTITUTION: In one embodiment of the present invention, polyacrylonitrile fiber is heat treated at 230deg.C for 3hrs and then it is dipped in 3M KOH solution. After drying process, it is again heat treated at 700deg.C for 30min. Thereby, an activated carbon fiber having specific surface area of 1810m2/g, N/C of 0.1, and O/C of 0.13.
