CATHODE FOR ELECTRON GUN

PURPOSE: A cathode for electron gun is provided to obtain a long life time under a load with a high current density by securing a spreading path of a reducing agent included in a base metal in order to generate smoothly glass barium atoms. CONSTITUTION: A cathode for electron gun is installed on an upper opening of a sleeve(2) including a heater(4). The cathode for electron gun comprises a base metal(6). The base metal(6) of a cap shape includes elements such as Ni, Si, and Mg. A metal layer(12) is formed on an upper portion of the base metal(6). The metal layer(12) is formed with a pure Ni or Ni-Zr. An electron emission material layer is formed on the metal layer(12).
