PURPOSE: A remote control signal relay apparatus and a method of the same are provided to relay a remote control signal outputted from a remote controller that controls a receiving apparatus in other location by relaying a signal from the remote controller. CONSTITUTION: A remote control signal relay apparatus includes a remote controller(10), a transmitter(20) which is a transmission unit, a relay unit(30) which is a relay unit, and a receiving apparatus(40). The remote controller(10) outputs an infrared ray signal for remotely controlling the receiving apparatus(40). The transmission apparatus(20) receives a signal from the remote controller and encodes a received signal and outputs the encoded signal using a wireless system. The relay unit(30) decodes a signal outputted from the transmission unit(20) and recovers an original signal outputted from the remote controller(10).
