PURPOSE: A high precision step motor using a magnetostriction exciter is provided to produce a large transfer-torque with making a high precision fine angle by stepping operation. CONSTITUTION: In a high precision step motor using a magnetostriction exciter, a peak type magnetostrictive substance(Terfenol-D,1) is winded by a magnetic coil(2), so to produce a magnetic field. A bias magnetic field is made by placing a permanent magnet(3) around the winded substance(1) to increase a generation of a positive/negative displacement and a linearity of a magnetic field displacement. A push rod(4) is connected the magnetostrictive substance(1). A magnetostriction exciter(6) has a compressive force impressed device using a spring(5) which biases the push rod(4). A frictional pad(7) connected to the push rod(4) is pushed by a spring(10) to connect a rotation board(8). A current is impressed to the magnetostriction exciter(6) to rotate on the rotation board(8) in a fine angle.
