PURPOSE: A piston for minimizing stress is provided to prevent biased abrasion of a piston and a cylinder bore and deformation or damage of the piston by minimizing a bending moment applied during a compression stroke of the piston. CONSTITUTION: A piston for minimizing stress disposed in a plurality of cylinder bores reciprocatingly, includes a cylinder-shaped head(112), semi-cylinder shaped inner and outer segments(116,118) extended from the head longitudinally and having a thickness smaller than a radius of the head in every portion, a supporting part(122) connected by the inner and outer segments and having a recess and a pair of shoe pockets(126) formed in the recess, and a stress diversifying element for diversifying the stress applied to the piston during the suction and compression stroke of the piston to prevent deformation or damage of the piston.
