METHOD FOR SEPARATING FE FROM HEAVY METAL-MIXING SOLUTION USING THE FLY-ASH

PURPOSE: A method for recovering Fe selectively from a heavy metal solution containing Fe and Zn is provided. In the Zn refining process, while Fe coexisting with Zn in sphalerite ore is changed to zinc ferrite (Zn·Fe2O4) in roasting process. Herein, the content of Zn is 19-22%, however this Zn is not easily leached from zinc ferrite through only one step extraction. Therefore, second extraction using strong acid is conducted to extract Zn component from zinc ferrite. However, heavy metals such as Fe as well as Zn are extracted so that Zn component is contaminated with Fe. CONSTITUTION: First, a heavy metal solution containing Fe and Zn is controlled to pH1-pH2 and then fly ash 2-4g (50-70micrometer) is added to the heavy metal solution 100mL. In the method, the fly ash is dried for 2-4hrs at 110-125deg.C.
