PURPOSE: The titled heat treatment method capable of shortening a heat treatment time by heat treating at 800deg.C during spheroidizing heat treatment of low carbon steel to increase a diffusion speed of carbon and accelerate decomposition of pearlite and spheroidization of carbide is provided, thereby reducing the cost of production and producing excellent cold workability. CONSTITUTION: This heat treatment method comprises the steps of: peeling a scales on the surface of low carbon steel wire rods comprising C:0.19wt.%, S:0.093wt.%, Mn:0.76wt.%, Al:0.027wt.%, S:0.002wt.%, P:0.02wt.% and the balance:Fe and other inevitable impurities, wire drawing and spheroidizing heat treating, wherein the wire drawn low carbon steel wire rods are heat treated in the range of 790 to 820deg.C for 1 to 3 hr and cooled at a speed of 25 to 50deg.C per hr until 650deg.C.
