PURPOSE: A device and a method for detecting vibration are provided to reduce a cost by detecting the vibration with a water level sensor. CONSTITUTION: A fixing plate core(31) of a vibration reducer is vibrated inside/outside a coil(21) by installing in a molding(23). In inputting a washing command, a control unit detects an amount of the laundry and supplies water correspondingly. A core(22) is moved upward and a colpitts generating unit(20) outputs a specific frequency. The control unit detects a present water level. In finishing the water supply, a washing, a rinsing and a dehydrating are performed. In generating vibration, the fixing plate core(31) is vibrated inside the coil(21) and the colpitts generating unit(20) generates. A counter is initialized. The counter measures a frequency changed amount during a t time when a measuring frequency per a unit time is not over p. The counter value is increased once and the frequency changed amount is repeatedly measured until the measuring frequency is over p. A vibration amount is discriminated by adding all of the frequency changed amounts. The dehydrating is performed by controlling a dehydrating speed according to the discriminated vibration amount. The dehydrating is stopped when the vibration is excessive.
