PURPOSE: A process for preparing a thermal barrier coating formed by two equiaxed crystals layers by coating of a porous Al-Ni-Cr-X metal alloy layer between a zirconia coating layer and MCrAlY layer and then oxidation treatment is provided, thereby producing a thermal barrier coating generating no changes in thickness and oxidation on a medium bonding layer after exposed in a high temperature oxidation atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: In a method for forming a thermal barrier coating for protecting parts exposed in a high temperature oxidation atmosphere from oxidation, a porous Al-Ni-Cr-X(X is Co, Y or Hf) metal alloy layer is coated between a zirconia coating layer and MCrAlY layer and heat treated in an atmosphere to form two equiaxed crystals layers, which are mixed with pure alumina equiaxed crystals layer and Al2O3-NiO-Ni(Cr,Al)2O4.
