PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing surface penetrate type hypereutectoid Al-Si alloy is provided to partially alloy Al-billet with Si at a part requiring abrasion resistance by spraying fine silicon particulates on the surface of slurry phase Al-billet. CONSTITUTION: The surface penetrate type hypereutectoid Al-Si alloy is manufactured by heating an Al-billet to a mushy zone temperature ranging from 560 to 610deg.C for transferring the Al-billet to slurry phase; spraying silicon powder having a particle size of 15 to 50μm.
