PURPOSE: An apparatus for suppressing a dead time of a voltage-type power converter is provided to suppress a dead time of a voltage-type power converter by controlling two switching devices by one driving signal, and monitoring Vce voltage for detecting a short circuit of an element. CONSTITUTION: In a current converter having two switching devices, a dead time suppression device includes a current inference part(10), and a switch driver(20). The current inference part(10) receives output voltages(S1,S2), and outputs a driving signal which inserts or does not inserts a dead time according to a voltage error between the output voltages(S1,S2). The switch driver drives each switching element by a driving signal generated from the current inference part. Thereby, a dead time of a voltage-type power converter can be suppressed by controlling two switching device by using one driving signal.
