TELEVISION COLOR MUTE CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: A color mute circuit in a television is provided to solve a problem of a confused seeing by a view due to a dizzy screen by muting colors when colors of a screen is abruptly changed due to a weak broadcasting signal. CONSTITUTION: A color mute circuit in a television includes a tuner(2) for selecting a broadcasting signal in a television. An IF amplifier(3) amplifies a mediate frequency signal selected in the tuner(2). A P/S separator(4) separates the mediate frequency signal of the IF amplifier(3) into an image mediate frequency signal(P) and a voice mediate frequency signal(S). An image processor(7) processes the image mediate frequency signal from the P/S separator(4) to generate an RGB signal and a brightness signal. A pulse width modulation unit(16) adjusts an oscillating frequency for selecting channels of the tuner(2). A controller(11) grounds a color mute terminal of the image processor(7) when a given detection signal is outputted from a signal intensity detector(18).
