A drainage apparatus includes a container having a bottom and an interior surface. A piston is disposed in the container. The piston has a peripheral seal in sealing engagement with the interior surface of the container. A handle is secured to the piston. The piston is movable by grasping the handle and exerting a force to move the piston away from the bottom. A flow passage extends through the bottom of the container. A flexible hose is secured to the bottom of the container in fluid communication with the flow passage. The flexible hose is positioned in areas inaccessible to bailing and then the piston moved to draw liquid up the hose and into the container.
