PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of Ti-Ni-Cu based shape memory metal alloy displaying reversible martensitic transformation behavior is provided to produce a shape memory metal alloy having superior mechanical processability by adopting high-energy ball milling method. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method of Ti-Ni-Cu based shape memory metal alloy comprises the steps of (A) charging powdery Ti, Ni, Cu, and a plurality of stainless steel balls in a container either filled with an inert gas or under vacuum condition for high-energy ball milling method wherein ball milling speed is between 100 and 350rpm, ball milling time is 6-10hrs, the size of the stainless ball is from 6 to 7mm ψ, and the weight ration of metal powder and stainless ball is from 1:20 to 1:50; (B) heat treating a metal alloy£Ti-(50-XCu)Ni-XCu, wherein X is 1-15 (at.%)| obtained in the A step under an inert gas condition of 600deg.C or higher.
