PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display substrate is provided to equalize a thin film transistor property by making a resin of a color filter be contacted with a semiconductor layer of the thin film transistor using an organic insulator. CONSTITUTION: A switching element is formed which comprises a gate electrode(160a), a source electrode(170a), a drain electrode(170b), and a semiconductor layer(190) formed on one plane of a transparent substrate(110). A gate bus line is connected to the gate electrode(160a), and a data bus line(170) is connected with the source electrode(170a). An organic insulator(155) is formed so as to cover the switching element, the gate bus line, and the data bus line. A color filter is formed on the organic insulator. Pixel electrodes are formed on the color filter and are connected to the drain electrode through contact holes(130a,130b).
