PURPOSE: A device and a method for transceiving voice data are provided for the personal computer to convert received PCM data and output the converted data in the voice without changing an application program in the personal computer even though the algorithm of the voice mailing system is changed. CONSTITUTION: A voice processing unit(100) codes voice received from a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network,230), and decodes voice data to be transmitted to the PSTN(230). An HDD(Hard Disk Drive,300) has a storage area for storing the data coded in the voice processing unit(100) by subscribers. A disk control unit(290) designates an area of the HDD(300) for storing data, and controls the designation of an area for reading data. A message transfer unit(260) transfers a message list when a personal computer(220) is connected, and converts the data stored in the HDD(300) into PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) data when the personal computer(220) requests the reading of the data stored in the HDD(300), to transmit the converted data through the Internet(240). A central control unit(270) generates a message list of a corresponding subscriber if the personal computer(220) is connected, to transmit the message list through the message transfer unit(260). And the central control unit(270) controls an output of data to the message transfer unit(26) when the personal computer(220) requests data reading, and performs corresponding operations if the PSTN(230) requests data storage and data reading.
