PURPOSE: A method of making a liquid crystal color filter is provided to need no means for generating a lambda/2 phase difference by using a cholesteric film of an one-storied structure. CONSTITUTION: A mixture layer(230) is formed between the first transparent substrate(210) and the second transparent substrate(220) and is made of a chiral monomer(250) and a polymer(240). The mixture layer(230) is cured by irradiating an ultraviolet ray of light. The mixture layer(230) has a partition structure, in which the polymer(240) is formed toward the first transparent substrate(210) and the chiral monomer(250) is formed toward the second transparent substrate(220). The partition structure is formed by a difference between a polymerization rate and a diffusion rate. A chirality direction of the polymer(240) is opposite to that of the chiral monomer(250).
