The passive house is pressure-tight and air-tight and includes an air inlet opening in an external wall outside an external heat insulating layer. An air outlet is provided in the same external wall, outside the external heat insulating layer. The negative pressure created by an extractor fan in the air outlet produces an airflow directed from the air inlet opening to the air outlet opening. The negative pressure is between 3 and 20 Pa. Air openings may be provided in doors. Rooms in the house may be linked by air flow openings in the walls. The openings may contain sound absorbers. The house may include a miniature wind generator with a power of 500 Watt or more for providing a power supply. A method of producing residual heat in a passive house is also claimed. The method involves transmitting temperature measurements to a central electronic controller for the house.
