The folding roof (1) of a convertible automobile has a two-part frame for the rear widow, with a surface (8) at the frame section (5) for the rear window which is flush with the window pane outer surface (7), forming the visible part of the frame when looking at the window pane (7). The frame section covers the window pane on the other side at the edge, and is bonded to the window surface. Away from the window pane (10), the frame section (6) has a reduced cross section to hold the roof cover fabric (2).
