SLOT SPACER FOR OPTICAL FIBER AND FABRICATING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A slot spacer for an optical fiber and a fabricating method thereof are provided to safely support and protect optical fibers by ensuring enough adhering strength between a tensioning line and the spacer even in using steel lines having good straightness as the tensioning line. CONSTITUTION: A tensioning part(130) has single tensioning line or a plurality of tensioning lines composed of steel wires. A spacer body(110) is composed of thermoplastic resin which receives the tensioning part(130) in the central part thereof and has a plurality of grooves for supporting optical fibers in the periphery thereof. An adhesive layer(140) is inserted between the tensioning part(130) and the spacer body(110) to enhance the adhering strength between the tensioning part(130) and the spacer body(110). The adhesive layer(140) is composed of ethylene copolymer containing acrylic acid or alkyl acrylate at least 0.2 mole percent and polymerblend which is blended with the ethylene copolymer and polyethylene resin.
