A polymerization catalyst for unsaturated monomers represented by the general formula [1]: MR<1>kR<2>mR<3>nQh; wherein R<1> is a ligand having at least one of a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom, a phosphorus atom and an oxygen atom, R<2> is a cyclic hydrocarbon ligand having pi -electrons, R<1> and R<2> may together form a bridge structure, R<3> is a ligand of an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkyl group containing a silicon atom or an aryl group containing a silicon atom, M is a metal belonging to the 3 group of the Periodic Table, each Q is independently a halogen atom or an electron-donating ligand and plural Q's may be selected from a combination of same or different members, k is an integer of 1 to 4, and m,n and h are 0 or an integer of 1 to 4. |
