Bent piece system for connecting suction pipe with opening in hull of hopper dredger

The bent piece (1) is releasably connected with the flange (2). The flange forms part of a support structure partly in the form of a stirrup (18) which extends around the bent piece and is firmly connected with the coupling piece (3) of the suction pipe (4). The support structure is so formed that the bent piece can be replaced whilst the suction pipe remains connected with the support structure. A part (6) of the suction pipe is hinge-connected to the shaft (16) of the stirrup whilst the suction pipe has a flexible part (5).
