The invention provides an ISDN interface unit which has the advantage that it is embodied in a separate housing and can be used in conjunction with existing network devices already mounted on a component. The interface is created by coupling with an ISDN component which ensures the communication between the ISDN and USB (universal series bus). The advantage of this system is that it can be connected to a personal computer while said computer is running and that it constitutes a unit which can be sold and serviced separately.
