A resin composition comprising a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (A) and a metal soap (B) of the following general formula (1) as obtainable by reacting one or more species of aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing 12 SIMILAR 30 carbon atoms with an oxide or hydroxide of a metal belonging to Group 2 of Periodic Table of the Elements by a dry direct reaction method. alpha MO.M(OOCR)2 wherein alpha represents a numerical value of 0.1 SIMILAR 1.0; M represents a bivalent metal belonging to Group 2 of Periodic Table of the Elements; R represents a saturated or unsaturated alkyl group containing 11 SIMILAR 29 carbon atoms.
